In the early 2000’s right after the peak of the dot com boom I went to work for YellowPages.com in marketing. While the online Yellow Page industry didn’t blossom during my time at YellowPages.com, it has continued to grow with all of the major players offering print yellow pages also offering online versions these days. Listings on the online versions are usually sold at the same time as the print ads are sold. Sometimes the deals are reasonable and oftentimes they aren’t. One of my primary goals is to find you the best deals going and to encourage these directory companies to offer you deals worth taking advantage of.

More recently I’ve become involved with pure online directories, or Web directories. These directories have been geared much more towards the online entrepreneurs and businesses and less so for the brick-n-mortar businesses targeted by the yellowpages industry. They’re useful for generating traffic and in some cases improving Website positions in the search engine rankings and usually far less expensive.

I launched my first two Web directories, one directory for moms and a second directory for dads, in December 2007. Since then I’ve launched several more including BigGuide, a general Web directory, BigGuide UK, a general Web directory of UK Websites, All Top Directories, and More Business Directory. During the course of learning html, php, web mastering, etc…, I also have learned a lot about Web directories and the potential value in establishing an online presence. I hope that experience will help me find you the best deals available from the vast number of online directories available.
